This series consists of design patent case files. Each design patent case file may include the patent file wrapper, issued patent specification and drawings, petition for a patent, applicant's initial specification, draft drawings and oath of invention. The examination portion of the file contains correspondence between the patent examiner and the applicant or the applicant’s attorney, amendments to the original specification and drawing. The letters patent were given to the applicant at the time of issue.
