English: Amtrak began operating RTG Turboliner service between Chicago and St. Louis on October 1, 1973 under the Turboliner name. One of the two round trips was replaced by the Abraham Lincoln with conventional equipment on October 26, 1975. The other was replaced with conventional equipment after an accident on November 18, 1975 (and by Amfleets a month later), though the Turboliner name was used until February 16, 1976, when it was replaced by the Ann Rutledge. One weekly round trip was usually operated with conventional equipment during maintenance, and the State House occasionally used Turboliners.
