English: A transformer column (or column transformer, or transformer pillar, sometimes referred to as "kiosk-type") is a column/pillar with lateral openings containing transformers, usually located inner-city, and often (not always) also used as an advertising column. This kind of installation was common in the late 19th/early 20th century (electrification era), especially in some parts of Europe; later replaced by more modern distribution substations of different sizes.
