English: The Tetrakis square tiling is a tiling of the plane by isosceles right triangles, formed by subdividing each squares of a square grid into four triangles meeting at the center of each square. Alternatively, it can be formed by subdividing each square of a grid into two triangles by a diagonal, with the diagonals alternating in direction, or by overlaying two square grids, one rotated by 45 degrees from the other and scaled by a factor of √2. It has p4m symmetry (uncolored), and forms the underlying structure for the game boards in the games of Fanorona, Adugo, and Hare and Hounds.
