Soviet Heroic Monument (other name Liberation Monument) by Endre András Tornay (a WWII memorial, modern style, 1985 works) In memory of 139 fallen soldiers of ' Third Ukrainian Front ' who fallen in around Kőszeg. Circa 4 meters high stone pillar. On the top of the pillar is a stone helmet, on the stone helmet stand a stylized bronze Niké, the goddess of victory statue. It was inaugurated on March 29, 1985, the 40th anniversary of the city's liberation. Before the pillar is a gray stone plaque on the ground (on a low white stone base) with cirillic inscription and names of the soldiers. - Located in a Park at Munkácsy and Rákóczi Street junction, Kőszeg, Vas County, Hungary.
