English: The document of surrender was signed by Japan on 16 September 1945 at Government House in Hong Kong. Rear Admiral Harcourt accepted the surrender of Japanese forces in the Hong Kong area by Maj.-Gen. Okada Umekichi and Vice Admiral Fujita Ruitaro (other sources mention also Lt.-Gen. Tanaka Ryosaburo).
