"A long and narrow singleseater" called the world's fastest canoe.
In January 1906 at Ormond Beach, Daytona this car won the Dewar trophy and set a world speed record. Marriott, foreman of the Stanley factory repair department drove the car because he was the only bachelor on the team.
In 1907 in a further attempt the car crashed and was destroyed. A functioning replica was built in the late 1960s.[1]
