English: Medieval five-bay church, erected c. 1200 at St. Mary's Lane in the centre of Kilkenny city. Converted to a Church of Ireland after 1537 due to the reformation. Heavily rebuilt in 1820 by the architect John Robinson, altered in 1876 by the architect Richard Langrishe. Purchased by the Kilkenny Borough Council in 2009 who converted it under the direction of McCullough Mulvin Architects to the Medieval Mile Museum which opened in 2017. See NIAH entry, DIA entry, and Irish Times, 6 July 2017, p. 42.
