English: Sovinto was a four-masted iron ship built in 1878 by Barclay, Curle & Co., Glasgow for R. & J. Craig, Glasgow, named: County of Dumfries. 1905 reduced to barque rig. 1906 sold to owners at Raumo, Finland and was renamed Sovinto. In the same year (November 6) wrecked at East Point, Prince Edwards Island in the Indian Ocean on a voyage from Campbelltown to Australia with a cargo of timber.
Her dimensions were 266.2 × 38.8 × 23.6 ft (81.1 × 11.8 × 7.1 m) and she had a tonnage 1718 GRT, 1640 NRT and 1580 tons under deck. The forecastle was 38 ft long and the poop 50 ft. Rigged with royal sails above double top- and single topgallant sails. [1][2]
