English: A railroad station known variously as South Vernon (VT), East Northfield (MA), and West Northfield (MA), depending on the time period and railroad. The station was the junction of the Central Vermont Railway and the Boston & Maine-controlled Connecticut River Railroad. The Ashuelot Railroad (controlled by the Connecticut River and later the B&M) also used the station; it ran parallel to the Central Vermont for half a mile north to the South Vernon junction. The station was originally north of the state line; after a circa-1910 grade separation project it was firmly south of the border in Massachusetts
