Sondani – also referred to as Sondhni is a small village southeast of Mandsaur city in Mandsaur District, India. It should not be confused with another village with the same name west of Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh.
Sondhni is notable for the 6th-century Yashodharman Vijayastambha inscribed pillar and other ruins which celebrates his victory over the Huns and Mihirakula. The other ruins suggest that the site also had a Hindu temple, which is now lost. Many other scattered and mutilated ruins were discovered by farmers as they plowed their fields. These ruins suggest that Sondhni has several ancient Hindu and Jain temples. These are now on display in a museum close to the Yasodharman pillar site.
