Hällristningarna från bronsåldern, 1700–500 BC, på Skomakarhällen är några av de circa 600 figurerna på 32 ytor längs vad som kallas Via Sacria "Den Heliga Vägen", en mycket gammal väg som går genom ett område som med största sannolikhet var ett religiöst center. Den mest framträdande hällristningen är den sk Skomakaren, antagligen en avbildning av Väderguden, en föregångare till Tor.

The petroglyphs from the Bronze Age, 1700–500 BC, at the Cobbler's Cliff are some of the about 600 images in 32 areas along what is called the Via Sacria "The Holy Road", an ancient road through an area that most probably was a religious center. The most noted petroglyph is the so called "Cobbler", most likely a representation of the Weather God, a predecessor to Thor.
