English: Serpentine walls (or crinkle-crankle walls) are walls that are formed in an undulating line (like a serpent or like several "S" in a row).
- Serpentine walls are sometimes used for: 1.) aesthetic reasons; 2.) to improve the stability of the wall; and-or 3.) to grow sun and warmth loving plants while minimizing windchill in a microclimate, so that introduced fruiting and ornamental plants can be grown in regions where the climate is otherwise not ideal-suitable.
