The oldest operating Japanese language school in the continental U.S. Located roughly on the border between the International District and Central District. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, ID #82004245 and (as Japanese Language School) as a city landmark. The buildings also house the Northwest Nikkei Museum, Nikkei Library, Budokan Dojo, and several other Japanese-American institutions, which as of 2009 are collectively known as the Japanese Cultural & Community Center.
