Salita Monte Pellegrino is a short (ca 8 km) hillclimb from Palermo up the Monte Pellegrino. It follows the "Via Pietro Bonanno" road, named after the mayor that got the road work started in 1904–05. The road was opened by Mussolini in 1924. The race was held in 1908 (partial route), 1924–28, 1937, 1948–... (?). (See [1] for results, pictures and discussions)
