English: This street is named after João Baptista Ramos Faísca (Born in Loulé 22 September 1894 - Died in Loulé 24 November 1974). He was a doctor and politician who served as vice president of the Municipality of Loulé, between 1932 and 1933. He graduating in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon on 29 April 1921. Shortly thereafter he was appointed Municipal Electoral in Boliqueime, a position he held for about three decades. Whilst in this post he distinguished himself by his competence, philanthropy and charity, being highly respected by the population of the parish of Boliqueime.
