The Relations of Ghana and Japan go back to the year 1927 when Dr. Hideyo Noguchi, a renowned Japanese researcher on yellow fever disease, arrived in Accra in order to launch his studies on the West African Gold Coast. The Official Development Assistance (ODA) of Japan to Ghana in the period after the World War II started in 1963.
