The Radio Wave Building at 49-55 West 27th Street between Broadway and Sixth Avenue in the NoMad neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1882-83 as French flats, and was designed by August Hatfield in the Queen Anne style. It was later converted to a hotel, and was the Gerlach Hotel when the inventor Nikola Tesla lived here and experimented with radio waves in 1896. The building has now been renamed the Radio Wave Building. It is located within the Madison Square North Historic District.
