Also called the Hanoverian Fringe, the George III Fringe, and the Sunray Tiara. Sometimes confused with Queen Mary's Fringe (1919). Made by Rundell & Bridge as a necklace in 1831 for Queen Adelaide, using diamonds that had been owned by King George III and Queen Charlotte. Worn as a tiara by Queens Victoria, Alexandra, Mary, and Elizabeth. Worn by Alexandra as a girdle with her coronation dress. Currently set as a necklace.
