English: The Quebec Conference was the second meeting held in 1864 to discuss Canadian Confederation. The 23 delegates from the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island had agreed at the close of the Charlottetown Conference in September 1864 to meet again at Quebec City in October 1864. The conference ended on October 27, and the delegates returned to their provinces to submit the Seventy-Two Resolutions to the provincial legislatures. Only Prince Edward Island rejected the resolutions. Canada, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia then set about securing Confederation, which culminated in a third London Conference in 1866, and the British North America Act on July 1, 1867.
Français : La Conférence de Québec était la deuxième réunion tenue en 1864 pour discuter de la confédération canadienne. Les délégués de la Province du Canada, la Nouvelle-Écosse, le Nouveau-Brunswick et l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard s'étaient entendus à la fin de la Conférence de Charlottetown en septembre 1864 pour se rencontrer de nouveau à Québec en octobre 1864. La conférence se termine le 27 octobre, et les délégués retournent dans leurs provinces respectives pour soumettre les 72 résolutions aux législatures provinciales. Seul l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard rejette les résolutions. La Province du Canada, le Nouveau-Brunswick et la Nouvelle-Écosse se mettent alors au travail pour obtenir leur autonomie du gouvernement britannique, ce qui mena à une troisième conférence à Londres en 1866, et l'Acte de l'Amérique du Nord britannique le 1er juillet 1867.
