All that remains of the former organ of Louis Dubois from 1762 is the case made with the assistance of Martin Bergaentzel, then a carpenter in Dubois's workshop ; and even the main body only has its facade and the dorsal positive is only decorative. The instrument was replaced by Martin & Joseph Rinckenbach in 1912 (44 stops on 3 keyboards & pedalboard), completed in 1935 by Jean Lapresté (buyer of the Rinckenbach house in Ammerschwihr before its final closure), modified in 1947 by Max Roethinger (electric console), relieved in two stages (1977 & 1980) by the brothers Laurent and Chrétien Steinmetz ; new relieving by the Muhleisen manufacture in 2015. Thus this organ is a summary of the history of the Organ Factory of Ammerschwihr from Louis Dubois to Jean Lapresté, including the most famous Rinckenbach.
