The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is a Renaissance faire located on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate and Winery in Rapho and Penn Townships, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As of 2009, the faire is in its 29th season. The 35-acre (140,000 m2) site contains 150 permanent Tudor-style structures, 15 stages with more than 90 shows each day (including a three-story replica of the Globe Theatre), one of the largest joust arenas outside Europe, its own winery, and an on-site microbrewery. The Faire runs 12 weekends, from mid-August through the mid-October, and is one of the largest in the world, attracting more than 250,000 patrons each year. The storytelling and music at the Faire have been praised by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, and it was named one of the top 100 events in America by the American Bus Association in 1998.
