English: The Partridge colouration is different between the sexes. The female is unambiguous, with brown plumage throughout with lighter, more golden neck and growing darker towards the tail with black (or blue etc) markings on each feather. Show quality hens are expected to present a "deep reddish shade of bay", a uniform colour and crisp black markings including threefold pencilling everywhere but the neck and tail. The male has red (or golden, buff etc.) head, hackles, saddle, tail-sickles, and wingtip, otherwise being black (or blue/splash etc.). The hackles and tail have darker pigment or stripes at tip as per the Columbian pattern, and the breast pencilling. The male may be indistinguishable from similar phenotypes with different genetic causes, so only roosters of known breed/parentage should be placed here.
