English: The Old Post Office, also known as the U.S. Government Building, is located at 441 Broadway at the corner of State Street Albany, New York. It was built from 1879 to 1883 and was designed in the Italian Renaissance Revival style by James G. Hill, then the Supervising Architect of the Treasury, and Edward Ogden. In 1977 the building was purchased by the Stat University of New York and added to SUNY Plaza. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. It is also a contributing property to the Downtown Albany Historic District, listed on the Register in 1980.
