English: The Ochsenboden testing center (Erprobungszentrum Ochsenboden) is located in the upper Sihl Valley, 15 km from Einsiedeln and 60 km from Zurich. It emerged from the factory firing range of the Oerlikon-Bührle AG machine tool factory, which was founded in 1953 and has been continuously expanded since then. In 1990, these facilities were taken over by the company RWM Schweiz AG (formerly Oerlikon Contraves Pyrotec AG) and integrated into the Ochsenboden testing center together with the development centers in the fields of chemistry and explosives.
