English: Gears that are non-circular, yet with teeth that still form a complete closed circuit. Most of these are pairs of complex shapes, designed so that they mesh at a constant distance whilst rotating, despite their non-circularity.
Conventionally many other gears of non-circular shape, such as racks and segments of circles are not included here, as they don't form a complete circuit.
