English: Mount John Laurie, also known as Yamnuska (from the Stoney Nakoda name Îyâmnathka, referring to its sheer cliffs) is in the Front Ranges of the Canadian Rockies in southwestern Alberta. It overlooks the Trans-Canada Highway and the Bow Valley from an altitude of 2,240 metres (7,350 ft), near where the river exits the mountains for the foothills and the city of Calgary.
