English: Mochuda of Lismore, originally named Carthach which is commonly anglicized as Carthage, founded monasteries in Rahan and Lismore, County Waterford, and died in 639. He is considered to be the first bishop of the diocese of Lismore (later joined with Waterford). His feastday is 14 May. See Pádraig Ó Riain: A Dictionary of Irish Saints, p. 470 ff., and entry AI639.3 in the Annals of Inisfallen (there exist conflicting dates regarding his death, this one has been confirmed by the chronology by Dan Mc Carthy).
