Matt Talbot (1856 – 1925) was an Irish ascetic who is a patron of those struggling with addiction.
From being an alcoholic in his teens and early twenties Talbot underwent an epiphany. He lived a life of prayer, fasting, and service, trying to model himself on the sixth century Irish monks.
