English: Jean Louis Albert Mathieu was born in Dijon on February 18, 1837 (birth certificate n ° 112). He is the son of Adrien Prosper Mathieu, investigating judge in Dijon, and Louise Catherine Aimée Monthieu. Photographer active in Paris, 39 Boulevard des Capucines, from 1866 to 1904 under the pseudonym Mathieu-Deroche. Silver medal in 1867. Gold medal at the Paris Exhibitions in 1878 and 1889. He joined the French Society of Photography in 1879. Photographer of S.A.R. Prince of Wales. Jean Louis Albert Mathieu wins the Grand Prix at the Paris Exposition in 1900 and at the Exposition of Saint-Louis in 1904. Jean Louis Albert Mathieu is made Knight of the Legion of Honor on August 14, 1900 (file: LH / 1790/36). The Parisian photographic workshop continued its activity in 1908, under the direction of Barbet-Massin, nephew of Jean Louis Albert Mathieu.
