Margaret Elwyn Sparshott, daughter of Reverend Thomas Henry Sparshott, was the matron of Manchester Royal Infirmary, England, and president of the Royal College of Nursing. Manchester Infirmary has a blue plaque in her honour.(picture: Twitter).
