English: The Limousine Body Co. was a coachbuilder that evolved from the Kalamazoo Wagon Co. (founded 1881), which was absorbed by the Michigan Buggy Company. The company entered the automobile field with detachable tops, which led to the formation of the Limousine Top Co. in 1914. They started soon building complete automobile bodies. The company was renamed the Limousine Body Co. in 1920. It was one of the companies that formed the combine in 1927 of which in 1929 the Cord Corporation evolved two years later. Limousine Body shared production of the open body styles for the Cord L-29 with the Union City Body Co. In 1933, the company located to Connersville, Indiana, and switched to the manufacture of metal kitchens. It closed in 1936, shortly before the demise of the Cord Corporation.
