English: Diluted coat colour is usually due to albinism. Spotting patterns are usually due to leucism. Older literature stating otherwise is outdated due to progress in genetics.

Deutsch: Aufgehellte Farben sind gewöhnlich auf Albinismus zurückzuführen, Scheckungen und Stichelhaarigkeit auf Leuzismus. Ältere Literatur, in der andere Behauptungen aufgestellt werden, ist aufgrund von Fortschitten in der Genetik veraltet.
