English: Lanescot is a hamlet in mid- Cornwall, England, near the English Channel coast, positioned about six miles from the tourist town of Fowey and eight miles from St Austell, home of the Eden Project. The name in Cornish means 'Bishops Palace' or 'Holy House'. At the turn of the 18th century Lanescott was reputed to have the largest tin and copper mine in the world. The only remaining parts of this time are buildings that were used as stables for the donkeys to transport the copper ore to Fowey docks and the remnants of an engine house.
