Kontusz sash
The kontusz sash was a cloth sash used for encompassing a kontusz (a robe-like garment). It was one of the most distinctive items of dress of Polish and Lithuanian nobility from about 17th through the 19th centuries. The most popular kontusz sashes were produced in Persiaries (manufactures) in Slutsk (White Ruthenia), Kobyłka and Lipków (Masovia).
