English: Knife fuses are disposable fuses to protect asymmetrical circuits.

Be extremely careful replacing them:

  • 1) Don't ever try to replace them under inductive load, cause electric arc can pass through your body and kill you;
  • 2) Don't ever try to replace them if you have no reliable dielectric gloves, pliers, footwear and carpet;
    • 2.1) Resistance of their insulation should be 1.0 MΩ (1 000 000 Ω) or even more;
    • 2.2) The lenght of your pliers should be at least 30cm (or you risk to catch electric arc by your hands and die);
    • 2.3) Insulation of your tools shouldn't be damaged;
  • 3) Discharge all capacitors before replacing (if they are capacitors in protectable circuits);
  • 4) Put away fused and put to socket new very quickly;
    • 4.1) Stop to replace them, if they are not going quickly from their socket;
    • 4.2) If you have no possibility to turn off electricity, replace them by long dielectric tools and switch off absolutely all electric appliences from this line.
