English: Kinfauns Castle was built as a passenger liner by Fairfield at Govan, on the Clyde (Yard No 407), for the Union-Castle Line and was launched in May 1899. 1916–19 she was a Royal Navy armed merchant cruiser and minelayer. Scrapping 1927. She was a Sister ship to the Kildonan Castle.
Her propulsion were: Twin screws driven by a quadruple expasion engine, by builder, speed 17.5 knots and the dimensions: length × beam = 545.3 × 59.2 ft (166.2 × 18 m) and tonnages: 9,664 GRT and 5,063 NRT.[1]
