English: Jedidiah Morse (August 23, 1761 – June 9, 1826) was a geographer whose textbooks became a staple for students in the United States. He was the father of Samuel F. B. Morse, the man who developed Morse code, and has been called the “Father of American Geography” on account of his textbooks.
