English: In September 1851, Louis Désiré Blanquart-Evrard started in Loos-les-Lille a printing company, the Imprimerie Photographique , or photographic printing factory, to mass-produce photographic prints by other photographers, including John Beasly Greene, Charles Marville, and Henri Le Secq. (The J. Paul Getty Museum). In 1855, the Imprimerie Photographique closed due to unwillingness of the public to pay high price for prints that may fade.
