English: Images from the Archives of Ontario's Tourism promotion photographs.

A collection of images from the Ontario Government Record Series RG 65-35 Tourism promotion photographs housed at the Archives of Ontario. The photographs were taken by the Department of Travel and Publicity, Publicity Branch, starting in the late 1940s and were used to market, advertise and promote tourism in Ontario. The photographs were maintained and indexed in a photo library that was initially established by the department and later maintained by the department's successor agencies.

The Archives of Ontario has chosen to share these images because they cover all regions of Ontario and include buildings, historic sites, street scenes, landscapes, recreational activities, events, festivals, and people throughout the province from the 1940s to 1980s, showcasing the changes in both rural and urban Ontario during the post-war years.

The Archives of Ontario is responsible for providing access to all material in its holdings covered by Crown Copyright and has decided to enhance access to this material by making them available under the terms of the Open Government Licence for Ontario.
