The Ile Europa and Bassas da India Xeric Scrub Ecoregion is a designated ecoregion by WWF and One Earth. It is classified as a Deserts & Xeric Shrublands Biome. It is one of eight ecoregions in the Madagascar Island Bioregion.
At present, the Bassas da India Island is fully submerged at high tide leading to a lack of surface vegetation.
