Nederlands: HoutBrox werd in 1906 in Veghel opgericht als winkel in manufacturen en koloniale waren. De naam ‘Het Anker’, zoals de bedrijfsnaam bij oprichting luidde, werd in de jaren 30 veranderd in Hout-Brox, naar oprichters Antoon van Hout en Lisa Brox. Bij het 100-jarig jubileum in 2006, ontving HoutBrox het predicaat ‘Bij Koninklijke Beschikking Hofleverancier’. Het hoofdkantoor en distributiecentrum is tegenwoordig gevestigd in buurgemeente Schijndel. Tot de moedermaatschappij behoren, naast HoutBrox, ook de winkelformules Duthler en Purdey.
