Harris Place, also known as the J. N. Harris Building and the Lena Building, at 159 State Street between Union Street and Eugene O'Neill Drive in New London, Connecticut, was built in 1885 and designed by Leopold Eidlitz in the Romanesque Revival style. The building was multi-use, a rarity at the time, and included eight large upper-class apartments, 30 offices, and a department store – Hislop, Porteus & Mitchell, which remained in the building until 1931. The building, which is part of the Downtown New London Historic District, was renovated in the 1990s. (Sources: [1] and [2])
