English: The plate, or metal frame, or harp of a piano is usually made of cast iron. In the late 1940s aluminum piano plate, called the Alumatone plate, was created. Some manufacturers now (information is from 2006) use cast steel in their plates, for greater strength.
Українська: Рама піаніно зазвичай виготовляється з чавуну. У 1940-х роках у США рами виготовляли ще й з алюмінію, але потім їх виробництво припинилося. В наш час (дані за 2006 рік) окремі виробники піаніно використовують сталеві рами, однак основним матеріалом для виробництва рам піаніно залишається чавун.
