The inhabitants of Poland live in traditional and historically-geographical regions. There are seven major areas - Masovia, Pomerania, Greater Poland, Lesser Poland, Warmia, Mazury and Silesia. Major regions have been divided into smaller, ethnographic lands. Previously each of them used to have their own characteristic costumes, dialects, music and traditions.
