English: Flora Batava, illustrations of all plant species in the Netherlands, was a long series issued in instalments with 461 issues with 2,240 plates published by the firm of Sepp (Amsterdam) between 1800 and 1934. Christiaan Sepp drew and engraved many of the early illustrations, Jan Kops wrote observations, and Sepp's son Jan Christiaan continued their work. When the Sepp firm went out of business in 1868, the project was continued by the firms of De Breuk & Smits (Leiden), Vincent Loosjes (Haarlem) and Martinus Nijhoff (The Hague). Through the century, the technique of botanical illustrations changed from copper plates to lithographs, and chromolithography. The original 232 subscribers never lived to receive the last instalment. This work is considered to be a Dutch book monument.

Nederlands: Flora Batava afgebeeld door en van wegens J.C. Sepp en Zoon ; beschreven door Jan Kops, afbeeldingen van alle plantensoorten in Nederland, was een langlopende reeks boekwerken die de firma Sepp (Amsterdam) tussen 1800 en 1934 uitgaf in 461 afleveringen met 2240 kleurenplaten. Christiaan Sepp (1710-1775) tekende en graveerde veel van de vroege illustraties, Jan Kops (1765-1849) maakte de beschrijvingen, en Sepps zoon Jan Christiaan (1739-1811) zette zijn werk voort. Toen de firma Sepp in 1868 failliet ging, werd het project voortgezet door de firma's De Breuk & Smits (Leiden), Vincent Loosjes (Haarlem) en Martinus Nijhoff (Den Haag). In de loop van meer dan een eeuw veranderde de druktechniek van botanische illustraties van koperplaten naar litho's en chromolithografie. De oorspronkelijke 232 intekenaars hebben de laatste aflevering niet meer meegemaakt. Dit werk wordt beschouwd als een monument van de Nederlandse boekdrukkunst.
