Flexible-fuel or E85 vehicles in the United States operate with two different fuels mixed in the same tank, usually ethanol or methanol, and gasoline. Most vehicles in the U.S. market are ethanol flex fuels. Due to the low temperatures during the winter, US flex fuels run on E85 ethanol fuel (a blend of 85% anhydrous ethanol and 15% unleaded gasoline), that can be reduced to a winter blend of E70 in some colder regions.
