The Electric Carriage & Wagon Company (E.C.W.C.) was a pioneer manufacturer of electric vehicles, especially taxi cabs. Founders were Henry G. Morris und Pedro G. Salom, who before built the experimental en:Electrobat automobiles. Although in existence for a short time, E.C.W.C. built the first motorized taxicabs in New York City, and influenced the design of the en:Electric Vehicle Company (E.V.C.) built vehicles. As such, it was also a predeccessor of the Columbia Motor Car Company.
