English: Dot Records was an american based record label, founded in 1950 by record shop owner Randy Wood. The company was headquartered in Gallatin, Tennessee, in the early years but moved to Hollywood, California, in 1956. Dot recorded several musical genres, including Country, Rhythm & Blues, Rock & Roll, Polka, Pop, and Rockabilly and scored numerous hits. Randy Wood sold Dot in 1957 to Paramount, which owend the label from 1957 to 1968, when Paramount became a part of Gulf & Western. G&W discontinued the label in 1977.
