Dorothy Duveen (1903-1985), daughter of the art dealer en:Joseph Duveen, 1st Baron Duveen. She was painted by many artists, including Dorothy Vicaji, Harrington Mann, Augustus John, and twice by her father's friend en:Adolfo Müller-Ury: once as a child and later at the time of her first marriage, this picture being then exhibited as Miss X by her father in 1925. Dorothy Duveen was married twice, first in 1924 to William Garthwaite, and secondly to Dr Bryan Hartop Burns.
